What is ASTER?

Aster (ASTER) is a decentralized exchange (DEX) where users can trade both spot and perpetuals with leverage. The platform is built as an on-chain alternative to centralized trading platforms, allowing users to execute their trades directly from their own wallet.

Aster emphasizes keeping trading accessible without sacrificing functionality. The platform is designed so that both simple use and more advanced trading options coexist.

How does Aster work?

Aster offers two different trading environments: Simple Mode and Pro Mode.

In Simple Mode the focus is on clarity and simplicity. Trades are executed immediately, with as few steps as possible. This environment is intended for users who want to trade without extensive settings.

Pro Mode is aimed at users who want more control over their trades. Here, extra order types and settings are available, such as more advanced order structures. This allows users to fine-tune their strategy more precisely to the market.

Aster is also set up as multichain. This means that the platform is available on multiple blockchains, allowing users not to be locked into a single network and to trade on the chain they prefer.

The ASTER token

ASTER is the token of the Aster ecosystem. The token plays a role within the platform and is intended for, among other things, community rewards, ecosystem development and other platform-related applications.

The total supply is 8 billion ASTER. A large portion of the tokens is reserved for the community. Other portions are allocated to the ecosystem, liquidity, the team, and the further development of the protocol.

The technology behind Aster

Aster uses smart contracts on the blockchains where the platform is active. These smart contracts ensure that trades are executed automatically and that positions are handled correctly.

For users, this means that orders are processed directly from their own wallet. The platform does not manage funds but serves as a technical layer that enables trading.

Aster is set up as multichain and runs on multiple networks. As a result, users can choose which blockchain they trade on, for example based on transaction fees or speed. The technical complexity remains largely behind the scenes, ensuring the experience is comparable regardless of the chosen chain.

Who is behind Aster?

Aster originated from a collaboration between the teams behind Astherus and APX Finance. The teams largely communicate from within the project itself and have limited external presence under their individual names.
