BLOX Obtains European MiCA Crypto License via the AFM

Last updated: October 1, 2025

BLOX has officially received its license under the new European regulatory framework for crypto markets, better known as MiCAR (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation). The license was granted by the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) and marks a significant milestone in our European growth ambitions.

One European playing field for crypto

MiCAR ensures that a single, uniform regulatory framework applies to all crypto service providers across the EU. This is great news for you as a user: you know exactly what to expect and can count on greater transparency. For BLOX, this opens the door to offering our services under the same conditions across all EU member states.

What does this mean for you?

Thanks to this license, your experience in the app will look no different than you're used to. You can simply continue trading crypto safely and easily. The real difference lies in the assurance behind the scenes: BLOX demonstrably meets the highest European standards, so you can rest assured that your crypto is in good hands.

Which services does the license cover?

The MiCAR license held by BLOX covers three core activities:

  1. Exchanging crypto-assets for regular currency
  2. Safeguarding and managing crypto-assets on behalf of clients
  3. Executing crypto-asset transfers on behalf of clients

This recognition shows that BLOX is not only ready for the new European standards, but also that we are able to offer users a fully regulated platform.

A milestone on the road to a stronger Europe

This license means much more to us than a formal stamp of approval. It is a confirmation of our vision: making crypto accessible and trustworthy for everyone, both in the Netherlands and across the rest of Europe. We look forward to continuing to build our position in the European crypto market together with you.
